We had an earthquake earlier tonight: 8:04 P.M. to be exact. The earthquake was the most powerful one we’ve had in a while, a 5.6 on the Richter scale.

When the quake hit, it sounded like a sonic boom hit my house!

Cool, clear water emits from the ground at this spring. The water comes out from under the rocks in the top right-hand portion of the photo.

We just had an earthquake here in the Bay Area. It was a magnitude 4.2 according to the USGS. An aftershock struck a few minutes ago as well. Items in my house fell over and pictures on the wall have been put off center. This is the biggest earthquake we’ve had in a while, and just more proof that California really is on shaky ground. What a great way to start off the month…
